ABOUT THE SHORTTRACK

2X 0.2 K swim – 5X 1.8 K mountain bike – 3X 1.1 K trail run

New XTERRA race concept called SHORTTRACK will have the world premier in Prachatice this year. This race will take place on Sunday at Kristanovicky Lake. Only TOP 25 men and TOP 20 women from the Saturday´s main race will qualify for this race. Competitors will race on very short laps around Kristanovicky Lake with many technical sections and obstacles. This race format will be very interesting for XTERRA Pros and also for spectators. Big screens in the race center will guarantee you will be able to watch complete race live! PRO prize purse: 5000 USD.

Swim

Two very short laps, each 200 meters. After first lap, there is just short run out of the water and jump from pier back to the water. There is a great chance to see the swimmers for the whole swim leg of the race.

Mountain Bike

It is short, twisty, super-technical course around the lake. Rockgardens, jumps, ramps, cyclocross style uphill, drops, ford and many and many of other interesting spots on the race course. After each lap the competitors will ride through the race center full of fans.

Trail Run

This short lap will be very fast in the first half, but very technical in the second half. The whole SHORTTRACK course is in the same small location, this is why we are expecting thousands of fans around the course! After each lap athletes will run through the race center.
