Prachatice

One of the nicest historical cities of the South Bohemian area, candidate UNESCO city, with unique city center from 15th century. Race center will take place on the Great Square, the main city square with wonderful old buildings. Prachatice is sometimes called “The Gate to Sumava mountains”. Surrounded by wonderful nature, with deep woods, rivers, small villages and beautiful views.

Prachatice is only 30km from another very popular UNESCO town, Cesky Krumlov and 40km from the wonderful castle, Hluboka nad Vltavou. Sumava mountains offer so many tourist attractions and sites to visit; you will need more than a week to explore the biggest mountains in Czech Republic.

How to get to Prachatice

 

The best airports to fly to are Prague (150km), Linz (120km) or Munich (270km). The roads in Czech Republic are well marked and you will drive most of the journey on highways. If you’re coming with a motor vehicle on a highway from Czech Republic or Austria, you will need a highway sticker.

 

Kristanovicky pond

 

Kristanovice is a small village 10km from Prachatice. Kristanovicky pond, is a lake 500m from Kristanovice. Race area is located on the small beach, where the race starts from, transition area, race office, dressing rooms, toilets, buffet, bar and small stage. On Saturday, during XTERRA Easy and KIDS Triathlon, there will be also the finish area. Parking slot will be located on entrance to the village.
