- Before start...
Before start...
ARRIVAL: After entering Špindlerův Mlýn, go to the city center and follow the arrows XTERRA, or direction signs to St. Petr. Race office and the happening of the race is located in the ski resort St. Petr's in Špindlerův Mlýn.
PARKING: Park outside the ski resort area at nearby stalls or paid parking in the center of Špindlerův Mlýn. Parking at the start of the race (Labe dam) will be indicated by arrows Xterra.
REGISTRATION: All new incomers or already signed up competitors must register in the Xterra race office on Friday 6/8/10 (from 4 pm to 8 pm) or Saturday 7/8/10 (from 8 am to 10:15 am). If you have already paid the start fee by a bank transfer you have to have a proof of the payment. Each competitor will receive a bag containing an MTB and run start number, safety-pins, plastic bag with a written start number to pack your wet-suit and other belongings, zip tapes and a gift in the form of Xterra sunglasses. Chips will be distributed just before the start of the race at the transmition area.
STORAGE IN THE TRANSITION AREA: Transition area 1 will be at the Labe dam where competitors can store their bikes and other necessary equipment till 10:30 am. When entering the transition area 1, a competitor will be marked by a start number on an arm or a hand. Transition area 2, after the bike part, is located in the center of the race in the ski resort area St. Petr and it will be open from 8:30 am to 11 am. It is necessary to store your equipment according to assigned start numbers.
START: The start of the race will take place below the trasition area 1 on the bank of the Labe dam at 12 am. The Xterra Czech and the relay race will start together. The start signal will be signaled by a horn.
SWIMMING: One swimming course is 500m long with a short run up out of the water around the buoy located on the bank. There are two rounds of the swimming course!!! The course will be marked by red and white buoys Xterra. When swimming the buoys must be on your right hand side! Wet-suits are allowed and higly recommended.
TRANSITION AREA 1: From the finish of the swimming part there is a short run up to the transition area 1 where all competitors get ready for the cycling part and will push their bikes up to the gravel path where they can get on their bikes. Swimmers from the relay race have to run through the transition area and pass the chip to the runner. It is necessary for all competitors to leave their belongings in the given plastic bag marked by a start number. These plastic bags will be transfered to the center of the race. You can pick it up at the transition area 2 after the race. You need to prove yourself with the running race number.
MTB: The bike part begins on the gravel path where you need to mind the passing turists. The bike course is 16 km long with elevation of 500m. The more difficult parts will be marked by exclamation marks. The whole course is marked by blue arrows and red and white tape. The transit to the second course is on the ski slope in the center of the race and will be significantly marked and handled by the crew. Also there are two rounds of the bike course! During all the bike part of the race all competitors must wear a helmet. The competitor will not be allowed to enter the bike course without a helmet. There will be one refreshment station with water, iont drinks in bike bottles and energy gels. Please mind that you are in the national park and do not litter.
TRANSITION AREA 2: Thransition area 2 starts with a red and white tape on the ground where you need to get off the bike and walk to your stall. Put your bike on the hanger and run out through the other side. Please mind your mates when in the transition area. The bikers from the relay race will pass the chip to the runner in the defined area in front of the transition area. The entrance to the transition area will be closed at 4:30 pm.
RUN: The hilly profile running course is approximately 3,5 km long. It is marked by red arrows and red and white tape. There are three rounds of the running course!! The transit to each next round is in the center of the race and it will be significantly marked and handled by the crew. When entering each round the competitor will be marked by a color lanyard by a member of a crew as a proof of completition of each round. At the end of each round there is a refreshment station - water, iont drinks, and fruit.
FINISH: The race is finish is a blue Xterra gate that will be located in the center of the race. The competitor must have two color lanyards proving completition of the race. The competitor must return the chip.
AFTER THE RACE: At the registration you will be given a food and a drink ticket and you can have lunch at the restaurant in the ski resort area for free. Menu: chicken risoto and a drink. Prize giving will take place at 7 pm in the large tent at the ski resort area.
